The author’s routes to the sights of the Moscow region are free and allow you to plan your trip yourself.

Those who want to leave the metropolis for a while and get a lot of positive emotions should use the route. This is a universal guide to Kolomna. Getting to Kolomna from Moscow is easy both by car and by train. The city is known for carefully preserving the history of local crafts. You can make sure of this by visiting the Kolomenskiy Gramophone Museum, the Fragrant Joys Museum and Manufactory and the Pastille Museum Factory. All these places are included in the route. In addition, you can visit the Museum of Art of the XX-XXI centuries and see the most famous and important architectural monument — the ensemble of the Kolomna Kremlin.

An hour and a half drive from the capital, the ancient city of Dmitrov is located on the banks of the Moscow Canal. The route offers to visit the main city attraction — the Dmitrov Kremlin. It is best to start exploring the city from there. You can continue walking along Kropotkinskaya Street, which is often called the local Arbat. Along it there is an ensemble of sculptures “Citizens” depicting typical residents of the city of the XVIII-XIX centuries. The program also includes a visit to the frog Museum. After all, this amphibian is considered an unofficial symbol of the city.

Zvenigorod is worth going to for the sake of manors, clean air and picturesque slopes. The city is even called Russian Switzerland, and in its history there are many interesting facts related to famous writers. The route will make sure of this. For example, on Moskovskaya Street there is a monument to A.P. Chekhov, installed for the 150th anniversary of the writer’s birth. Near Zvenigorod is the poetic birthplace of A.S. Pushkin — the historical estates of Zakharovo and Bolshye Vyazemy. Here, in the grandmother’s estate near Moscow, the poet spent his childhood. He also came here during the most difficult periods of his life.

Now the territories of the estates are included in The State Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve of A.S. Pushkin.

Another notable address in the route through Zvenigorod is the Museum of Russian Dessert. His collections are dedicated to the traditions of tea drinking.

Manors, picturesque lakes and an 18th-century palace can be seen nearby in Solnechnogorsk. A walk along the route will allow you to see the real architectural gems of the Moscow region. For example, the estates of Shakhmatovo and Tarakanovo, united in State Memorial Museum-reserve of D.I. Mendeleev and A.A. Blok. The guests of Solnechnogorsk will be surprised by the history of the local Bottomless Lake, which is called the “eye of the Earth”.
