Ingredients

Chicken – Arakaji

Onion – 1

green chillies – 3

chili – 1 tsp

coriander powder – 1 tsp

cumin – 1 tsp

yellow – pinch

Gungura leaves – 100 grams

Coriander – 1 bunch

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

Salt – enough to taste

Preparation Method

First wash the gongura leaves well. Otherwise sand will remain in it. So wash the gongura well and drain the water. Now light the stove and place a pan on it.. put gongura in it. Add green chillies and salt and let it simmer. Allow the gongura to simmer until the water in it evaporates completely. Only then will the gongura become juicy and paste like. Now let it cool. Then mix it into a paste and keep it aside. 

Now light the stove and place a kadai on it. Keep the flame in medium size and heat some oil in a kadai. Add onion to it and fry till golden brown color. Add turmeric, coriander powder, cumin, ginger garlic paste and fry it. Now add the well washed chicken to it and let it cook. After it cooks a little, add chilli and salt and mix well. Cover it and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. Now the chicken will become soft. Now you have to add some water to it and mix it well. Add the previously prepared gongura paste and mix it well. Cook for another two minutes with gongura, add coriander and stop the stove. It is amazing if you stir it in hot rice. Moreover, it gives you more taste after cooling.

Gongura chicken is almost like chicken curry but..Gongura is extra processed. But it surpasses chicken curry in taste. If you like a bit sour.. this will be your favorite dish for sure. Plus you get gravy with this recipe. This is a good recipe for those who sometimes feel that there is no gravy when cooking chicken.
